A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR AMERICAN TOWNS

Unlike big cities in Europe or China and indeed most of the world, suburbs in America are not built with many storey buildings but small houses on vast pieces of land.
This particularity if managed as it should could lead to small scale communities that could thrive without having to cling to big centers as it is without having to change the landscape and the habitat.
Each suburb could have its own organic farms, its own food cooperatives and all the services needed that would at the same time provide work becoming nearly autonomous by the way.

There are plenty of empty housing units and industrial premises that are just waiting to become refitted for that very purpose. Small businesses could sprout all over so that the present malls would not be useful anymore. People would cooperate, know and help each other, share the locally produced milk and honey in local small scale farms and gardens. Comunity gardens will no more be the exception but the norm, playgrounds will buzz with children's laughters ... Is it a dream ?

MAN DOES NOT WANT TO BE HAPPY

Why ?

The first reason is a common mistake of man's brain: being happy is too easy, not worthy, not rewarding, not 'man-made', in a word, natural.

The second is that there are evil people who bet on the first reason to ban more and more natural happiness from what man wants to 'succeed' in life.

It is too easy. Being happy is what man is made for, and no one wants to accept that. To be happy, man has only to accept his destiny as a human being. What does it takes to be happy ? Being healthy, making a living, having a loving family and friends, appreciating nature, the colors of a sunshine, the scent of a flower, the limpidity of a river … all a given for a sane mind in a normal world.

Are not children happy ? Are men and women not happy to live together and raise their children, sharing their happiness with family and friends ? But man wants to be his own master, he does not want to thank anyone for who he is, for what he wants, and the sole fact that being happy is his natural way to live makes him want the contrary and seek happiness, well, what he believes that could become his self-made happiness, the other way, any other way providing he is the only creator of what he deems happiness, even if it leads to the complete contrary of what would provide him with true happiness. Pride.

Being happy the natural way is boring isn’t ? Why being honest when it gives a heartbeat to cheat ? Why loving when hate gives you an adrenalin boost ? Why be confident when fear gives you wings ? Why helping each other when fighting makes you feel alive, or so one thinks ? Then, you have wicked souls who are betting on this flaw and work round the clock to provide you with tainted happiness. Games, tech, screens, mirrors, illusions, anything that can take you away from the natural way and fill their pockets with your addictions. They tell you one must fight to be happy, that if you don’t behave in a special way, if you don’t possess a certain object, if you don’t join an exclusive club, you will never succeed to be happy and you will remain an eternal loser.

Is that so ? You guess …

As usual, there are many teachings behind the story but one is emerging strong enough to shine alone, that is, the law of God is not made for the individual, the spoken law has no priority over the law of nature which is to live and, what is to live if not to share one's destiny with a woman ? Loving a woman is such a profound event in a man's life because without a woman, men cannot love God. Without a feminine partner, man's love cannot arise strong enough to understand its fundamental importance, without a woman, man's love of God is limited to obeying His law without understanding its universality, its uniqueness, its greatness.

The law is not the basis of life. Law and life are equally important; they are the two sides of God's coin, the two pillars of mankind. Man alone is set to respect laws and he needs a woman to respect for becoming complete, for reaching his unity and for being able to obey the law without becoming its servant. Man's destiny is not to be a follower of laws, be they natural or divine, but a creator of life in God's image and he cannot implement it alone. Without a woman, man will follow either the natural laws of the moral laws but for their own sake, and consequently, he will pervert them only because he is not able to follow both at the same time, he will become either an idolater or a savage, he will walk outside his identity and will look for reasons to support what he does, he will create his own laws neither natural nor divine, he will get lost on his own way without any chance of fulfilling his inner self.

 As long as man does not see in women the godly side of their nature and that procreating is not an aim in itself but the result of God's will, as long as men and women do not see in their children the blessing of God and the result of both natural and divine laws, humanity will remain a lost arch on its way to the abyss. Love between a man and a woman is the unique and only step to loving God for human's love is the corner stone of the love of God and eternity … poets are getting it right on that point. This explain why God's first promise to Abram was that he would become the father of a people because he did not leave Sarai to follow God but they were together on God's road  from the beginning to the end. Ichmael, who was not the son of loving parents kept his faith and his respect to his father alone and consequently to the law, and, on the opposite, Essav who was  not interested in getting married went out on the natural path solely to become a beast. It must be noted that had he wanted, one of Lavan's daughter was supposed to become his wife, Lea, as Rachel was Yaakov's bride to be ... So, let's summarize that the relation of man alone to God is the law. The European women whom they 'converted', they taught them to love the law, neither life nor God.

What makes you feeling awake, being alive ? A smile does the trick, from far away for the desperate.

But before friends, brothers, children, family or relatives comes the partner, the all in all elusive partner, the one you find or don't but the one you dream of in the deepest of your heart. She or he may not be that star your mind has created, that perfect being everyone has wished in vain for years but like before with relatives, a simple person, like yourself, in the end, perfectly fits. You may be deceived, you may still dream of your hidden idol but the one who will appear one day to be the possible reality will do the trick, if you're not a fool.

This second self, as different as he or she could be won't come out of your dreams. You got to get out of your cave to find him, her. He, let's stay with 'he', will not be an image on the wall of your mind but a real being, bringing his self in the picture, his particular identity, his own message in a living bottle. No perfect glass but no transparency, a spark of life, good and bad, bad and good. In the same way you'll have to reach out to him as he will have to cross the river too for an encounter.

Escaping the dream, with strengh, with will, with empathy, with good and bad, but with patience, with love.

A weapon ? A punch ? A beer ? A football game ? To feel a "man" ? Prehistory was a paradise, yeah man ! We've stepped into hell. But the remedy is still there, as long as the illusion has not overwhealmed all humanity, as long as some people, here and there feel for others, in the street. For how long ? Horrible thought, frightening feeling. Got beer ? Drugs ?

There is a "Change" we, yes, We must believe in ... Outside. This is the only thing that frighten the tyrants. Not the guillotine. THE STREET, and US, Together, Happy TOGETHER.

It is time to disarm. No doubt. Countries first, then citizens. Arms are the dehumanization of killing !  Of course it is no less a crime to kill someone with a knife or else, but it is a more difficult crime to accomplish, if not for money. From the top to the bottom, from the official Mafia to the 'outlawed', the Private Milicias, from Syria to Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran in the ME and all other places in the world, arms should be banished, dumped, destroyed.
From atomic bombs, jet fighters and the ones we don't know, We the People should declare a war to the arms, the biggests first.  If citizens should be disarmed ?

In Hebrew, there is a say that each country, nation has its 'Angel' that could be translated  by the essential traits of its 'soul', moral and physical. Say, the French like to eat, to cheat and to joke. They also like property, not being watched at home but they regroup to be looked at. Americans not only like the property but they claim the right to fight for it, even if that means killing the aggressor, with anything.

However, as a fact, there is no less crime in the US because people have the right to be armed. Arms are not the way for people to be, or to feel protected. What is is the understanding tat life is priceless, no matter what. Before being taught the history of wars, then arms, well, History, we should learn the incredible luck to be who we are, to be alive, to be conscious. We must before all be convinced to protect Life, all life.
The only ones who should have arms in a limited and controlled way are the Police, Border Police and City  Officers. Under specific terms, individuals could also register arms. But, as it is in so many countries, arms should be forbidden for the People as it would be for the Nation. Every country has huge problems and all energy should be put to solve them together, as countries should help themselves to resolve difficult trans national problems like Fukushima.

We must ask the leaders to think in a 'positive' way, and to deliver. All the arm budget should go into useful things that profit to all. The contents of education, the Media, the research should be cleared from lies, and aimed at a more natural life for all, without other fears than natural ones, which are few, all in all, don't you think ? And, in such a spirit, create small towns in the countryside, take the people back to the country, recreate smaller communities because, people like to live together, in peace.
